Yoga has been Nancy’s passion for 50 years. She began with Transcendental Meditation and yoga in 1970, and was introduced to Iyengar yoga in 1976. She traveled to Pune, India in 1983 to study with B.K.S. Iyengar and Geeta and Prashant Iyengar. Nancy has returned to India more than 20 times to continue her studies.
Certified by B.K.S. Iyengar as a Level III Senior Teacher, she serves on committees to train and certify new Iyengar teachers. She has opened yoga centers in Denver, Tokyo, and Singapore. She opened the Yoga Tree in Hotchkiss in 2006. Nancy’s teaching is true to the high standards of Iyengar yoga. She has deep understanding of the human body and soul and communicates this to her students with inspiration, clarity, and humor.
